The United National Party (UNP) says that former President Ranil Wickremesinghe will not contest the upcoming General Election.
Deputy Leader of the UNP, Ruwan Wijewardena, said that Mr Wickremesinghe does not expect to enter Parliament through the National List either.
Last week, Mr Wickremesinghe contested for Presidency and received only a little over 17% of the country’s vote.
