Mahinda Rajapaksa Summoned by CIABOC Over Airbus Deal Probe

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has been summoned to appear before the CIABOC on 12th of May to provide a statement regarding the Airbus deal investigation.

According to the SLPP, a letter requesting Rajapaksa’s appearance before the Commission on 12th of May 2026, was delivered to his Carlton residence today (9)

While several media reports last week stated that the former President had been summoned by the Bribery Commission, it is reported that no official notice had been issued at that time.

Less than 24 hours ago, former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena, who had been connected to investigations into the Airbus deal, was found dead in a residence in Colpetty. Chandrasena was a key witness and accused in the Airbus deal, in which his wife was also involved.
