The public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce possible damage from heavy rain, strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance near Sri Lanka, heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is expected in several areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, North Central and Northern provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts.
