Former Weligama organiser for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, Rehan Jayawickreme, has rendered his resignation from the party today.
The letter addressed to party and opposition leader Sajith Premadasa emphasized that his personal views, policies and ethics are not in alignment with the party and with the current challenges the nation is facing, it was important that a fresh ideology and actions without constraints were much needed.
Jayawickreme added that the decision he had taken was of his own accord and that he wanted to serve his nation and the citizens with accountability and honesty.
Speaking to the NewsdeskSL , Jayawickreme said that he will be continuing his passion of following politics and something new is on the horizon.
