Namal’s degree: Government is scared about the mass rally, says Namal

This government, just weeks after taking office, submitted a B report to investigate my degree, yet has failed to prove their allegations, claims MP Namal Rajapksa.

He made this statement while responding to allegations that Rajapaksa is not a degree holder, and an article published on a local website.

“Several months have passed, but nothing has been officially reported. Now they are frightened by the Nugegoda rally and spreading false propaganda. We will respond to all these allegations on the 21st,” Rajapaksa added.

Meanwhile, The Newsdesk SL contacted Namal Rajapaksa, who said that no such information was disclosed as the RTI was not responded to with the claimed information by local media ‘The Examiner’.

“The RTI department is not supposed to disclose any information regarding this investigation as a case is currently ongoing at the a Colombo MC1. (MC Colombo B 42852/01/25 Chief Magistrate Court No. 01). It is illegal to even disclose such information as the case is not closed as yet,” said Rajapaksa, while speaking to The NewsdeskSL.

Rajapaksa further noted that if the article claims that the London Law College has not properly documented the degree, then the local media outlet is actually challenging the London Law College itself.

Earlier today, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa announced that he will be attending the Rally on the 21st of November, and massive crowds are expected to turn up at the rally.
