WhatsApp groups have been flooded with citizens encouraging people to gather around the Fort Magistrate Court to stand in solidarity with former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Posts circulating on social media about the good deeds of Wickremesinghe and how he had ‘lifted the country from the pits’ during the economic crisis have been shared repeatedly.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that security has been tightened around the Fort Magistrates Court.
