Scheduled power cuts are set to return, according to CEB sources. I sincerely hope this government learns from the failures of the past rather than repeating them, says Former Weligama Mayor and Former Weligama SJB Organizer, Rehan Jayawickreme.
He made this statement via a X post this morning (Feb. 10).
“The blame game won’t work—people voted for change, not excuses. The more you point fingers, the more people will wonder whether you’re still in the opposition or actually in governance,” the post mentioned.
Jayawickreme further noted that the people of the country had voted for a change and that was what is expected.
“Sri Lankans are tired of politicians constantly blaming their predecessors instead of solving problems. They don’t care whose fault it was; they care about results. Blame doesn’t keep the lights on, fuel in the pumps, or medicine in hospitals. It doesn’t create jobs or reduce the cost of living. It only exposes incompetence and makes people lose faith in leadership,” his post went on to state.
His post concluded by stating that ‘Aragalaya 2.0’ will eventually happen once again, just a matter of ‘when’.
“Look after the basics—fuel, energy, medicine—and ensure a smooth supply. The moment you fail in that, Aragalaya 2.0 won’t be a question of if, but when,” the post concluded.
