The Department of Meteorology reports that several spells of rain are expected in the Northern, North-central, Eastern provinces, and Matale district. Thundershowers may also occur in some areas of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern North-western, and Uva provinces, as well as in Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts, particularly during the evening or night.
Misty conditions are anticipated in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces during the morning. The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of damage from localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
