Users have reported widespread issues accessing Meta’s social media platforms yesterday, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger, according to Downdetector. However, the platforms are now back up and running as normal.
The outages were first reported around 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, with users experiencing difficulties accessing both the apps and websites of Facebook and Instagram. Messenger users also reported problems with logging in and sending messages.
Meta acknowledged the disruptions in a statement, saying, “We’re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.”
