Digital Driving Licenses to Replace Current Ones

The government has approved the rollout of digital driving licenses, as announced by Cabinet spokesman Minister Nalinda Jayatissa. He emphasized the need for modernization, aligning with practices in other countries. While the new licenses will be introduced soon, existing licenses will remain valid for a short period until the digital system is fully operational. It’s been 15 years since the initial digital driving license system was introduced.
