All former Parliamentarians have returned their residences at the Madiwela Housing Complex for MPs. According to Parliament Secretary-General Kushani Rohanadeera, forty newly elected MPs have been assigned houses in the complex. Additionally, twenty former MPs who were re-elected have received the residences they previously occupied.
Following a change in government, all former MPs were directed to vacate their homes at the Madiwela Housing Complex. Initially, reports indicated that some former MPs had not returned their houses, with a few having left the country altogether.
The process of handing over official residences to the new MPs began on December 3, 2024.
