Dr. Ashoka Ranwala Chosen as the New Speaker of the 10th Parliament

Asoka Sapumal Ranwala, a Member of Parliament from the National People’s Power (NPP), has been elected unanimously as the new Speaker of Parliament.

His nomination was put forward by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya during the opening session of the tenth Parliament, with Minister Vijitha Herath seconding the proposal.
