All private-sector companies have received a directive stating that they must provide leave for employees to participate in the voting process for the 2024 General Election scheduled for tomorrow. This notification was communicated through an official circular from the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, Local Government, and Labour.
According to the circular, private companies are required to grant special leave with pay to employees who submit a written request to vote. The duration of this leave will depend on the distance each employee needs to travel to reach their polling station.
Companies are cautioned that failure to adhere to these regulations may lead to legal repercussions. The 2024 Parliamentary Election will take place from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on November 14. All employers are urged to comply with this directive to ensure that every eligible voter has the opportunity to exercise their democratic right.
