2024 General Election Guidelines on Voting

The Election Commission has issued guidelines for the voting process as the date draws near for the General Elections 2024.

As per the regulations, each voter is entitled to one vote, which can be cast for either a political party or an independent group.

Accordingly, to vote, the voter must mark an ‘x’ next to the symbol of your chosen party or the number and symbol of the independent group.

Voters may also select up to three candidates from their preferred party or group.

The voter can indicate your choices by placing an ‘x’ next to the number of each candidate at the bottom of the ballot paper.

The Commission warns that ballots will be rejected if voters select more than one party or group, or if any mark other than an ‘x’ symbol is used.

Meanwhile, postal voting for the 2024 General Elections, which commenced on October 30, is currently in its third day.

These guidelines are crucial to ensure that the votes are counted properly, the Election Commission noted.
