Postal voting for 2024 general election commences tomorrow

Postal voting for the upcoming General Election 2024 is scheduled to begin tomorrow (30).

The Election Commission has confirmed that postal voting will occur at all police stations, District Secretariats, Election Commission Offices, and the Offices of the Inspector General of Police, starting tomorrow.

Furthermore, voters will also have the opportunity to cast their postal votes at these locations on November 4.

For the armed forces and other government institutions, postal voting will be available on November 1 and November 4, according to the Election Commission.

Postal voters who are unable to vote on these dates will be permitted to cast their votes at their respective District Secretariats where their workplaces are situated.

In addition, Rohana Hettiarachchi, the Executive Director of People’s Action for Free & Fair Elections (PAFFREL), reported that nearly a thousand officials will be deployed to monitor the postal voting process during this year’s General Election.
