The Supreme Court has approved the inclusion of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe as a respondent in Fundamental Rights (FR) petitions concerning the alleged police attack and dispersal of a protest organized by the Socialist Youth Union (SYU) in 2022.
This approval came after the court reviewed a request from the attorneys representing the petitioners during today’s (22) hearing of two petitions filed by a group of SYU members.
