Rehan Jayawickreme, the SJB candidate or the Matara district, has vowed to refuse the usual perks given to parliamentarians if he wins a seat in parliament.
He made this promise while addressing a gathering in Morawaka and Deniyaya yesterday (15).
“I believe in serving the people without taking personal benefits,” he said via a X post.
Jayawickreme further noted that he would not accept the pension or vehicle permit offered to elected officials, adding that the country needs fresh faces in parliament.
