The Sri Lanka Netball Team departs for India today to compete in the 13th Asian Senior Netball Championship 2024, scheduled from October 18 to 27 at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru.
Veteran player Dulangi Wannithilaka will lead the team, although a vice-captain has yet to be named. This marks the first time Sri Lanka will participate in a major tournament without a vice-captain.
The team aims to defend their title, having won it six times previously. Veteran coach P. D. N. Prasadi will guide the team as they compete against 14 other countries.
Before their departure, the Sri Lanka Netball Team met with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya in Colombo yesterday.
