Rafael Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, will retire from tennis following this season.
The 38-year-old plans to represent Spain in his final match at next month’s Davis Cup Finals in Malaga.
Due to injuries, Nadal has played infrequently over the past two years and hinted last year that he might retire at the end of the 2024 season.
In a video message shared on Thursday, Nadal stated, “I am here to announce my retirement from professional tennis.”
