The Italian Naval ship ‘Ppa Montecuccoli’ arrived at the port of Colombo for a formal visit this morning (October 10).
The vessel was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions. ‘Ppa Montecuccoli’ is a 143-meter-long Multi-Purpose Combat Ship, commanded by Commander Alessandro Troia, who will meet with Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe today.
During its stay, the crew will visit local tourist attractions and participate in a briefing on the ship’s operational functions. On October 13, ‘Ppa Montecuccoli’ will engage in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with a Sri Lanka Navy ship off the coast of Colombo.
