The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) have announced their candidate for the upcoming presidential elections a short while ago, and the son of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa has been named.
This follows soon after the announcement made by businessman tycoon Dhammika Perera, who dropped out of the race.
