Samagi Jana Balawegaya Youth Vice Chairman Rehan Jayawickreme has tendered his resignation from his position at the SJB youth with immediate effect today (22).
In his resignation letter, Jayawickreme reiterates his support to the Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and assures his continued support towards the party, whilst noting that a younger individual would be more suited for the position.
Jayawickreme further noted that he will be contesting for a seat in the Parliament of Sri Lanka through the Matara electorate, adding that winning the Matara district would be tough achievement.
Meanwhile, Jayawickreme confirmed to The Newsdesk that he will still remain as a Working Committee Member for the SJB, the Weligama Organizer, Asst. secretary of the SJB national reforms commission and the Chairman of the SJB LGBTIQ reforms committee.
