Businessman and owner of KD Express courier service Kasun Madhushanka and wife Praharshani Arunali have been granted bail by the Welisara Magistrate’s Court after a brutal and horrific attack they carried out on a employee, who is also a relative of theirs.
The victim, a 19 year old lady, has also been living with the perpetrator and his wife for over a period of 3 years and was assisting the couple in their courier company.
The couple attacked the young lady brutally with two chairs, pulling her hair and repeatedly assaulting her in the head. Madhushanka and his wife own a courier company in the Nagoda area of Kandana called KD express, and are residents of the area as well.
The video went viral on social media, and the couple was arrested yesterday by the Kandana police and produced before court this morning.
It was revealed that the dispute arose over business within the company and escalated to a physical assault.
The couple was granted bail for Rs 200,000 each along with two sureties.
Next court hearing is due for the 23rs of October 2023.
