Six individuals have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a group of police officers at Mount Lavinia Beach.
Police Headquarters stated that a group of police officers had visited the location on information that a group of intoxicated individuals were swimming in a dangerous area at the beach, and had warned them.
According to the police, the officers had visited the location after notice regarding a group of intoxicated individuals swimming in a dangerous area of the beach.
The officers, intending to warn the individuals and control the situation, were allegedly attacked after the offenders turned aggressive.
Following the attack, two police officers have been admitted to the Kalubowila Teaching Hospital.
According to police, six suspects aged between 16 and 30 have been arrested in relation to the incident.
