According to police, a 46-year old bus driver has been abducted in Gampola this morning (24).
Police claim that the bus belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) had been intercepted by a group of individuals who had arrived in a van. The bus was travelling from Mawela to Gampola.
The bus driver has been identified as a resident of the Wattegama area and while the Gampola Police have initiated investigations, a motive behind the abduction has not yet been revealed.
