The police have arrested a 31-year-old man who smuggled heroin in Bandaragama, Nuwara Eliya, Haputale, Badulla, Kirulapone, Ratmalanaand Piliyandala areas by using money from the eZ Cash method.
580 milligrams of heroin was found in his possession.
The police had discovered that he had bought heroin from another person.
It was later revealed that the police had lured the suspect into arrest by falsely informing the person that they needed to buy heroin.
The suspect had 1450 packets of heroin kept for sale.
Customers has transferred money to the suspect through eZ Cash, and the suspect proceeded to hide the heroin packets in secret locations and had sent them pictures of the location through Whatsapp.
Further investigations are to be conducted by the police.
