Veteran Sri Lanka cricket cheerleader Percy Abesekera, AKA Uncle Percy, has passed away at the age of 87.
‘Uncle Percy’ has been Sri Lanka cricket’s long-standing supporter and is well recognised for walking into the field to either bring back or escort the team players with the national flag since 1979.
In September, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) presented Rs. 5 million to Percy Abeysekera to support his well-being and maintenance of good health.
