Prominent industrialist and businessman Harry Jayawardena has passed away early this morning (03), his family has announced.
Jayawardena was 82 years old at the time of his demise.
Don Harold Stassen Jayawardena (born 17 August 1942 in Ja-Ela, Sri Lanka) known as Harry Jayawardena (or Harry J, as fondly called by close friends) was a Sri Lankan industrialist He was chairman of Melstacorp PLC and was the Honorary Consul General for Denmark in Sri Lanka.
Forbes listed him as one of the richest people in Sri Lanka.
