The Minister who said that Sri Lanka is part of India, also thinks that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) should forge an alliance with the President, yet calls the SJB useless in several instances, says SJB Weligama Organizer Rehan Jayawickreme.
Jayawickreme made this statement via a twitter (X) post today (13).
“The SJB will not enter into any agreement with the incumbent. We chartered our own course in the 2020 elections, and that course will.not be altered to satisfy the whims ans fancies of a select few,” the post further read.
Speaking exclusively with The Newsdesk today (13), Jayawickreme said that the SJB will very soon take back the UNP, which rightfully belonged to the SJB and it’s members.
“The SJB will very soon regain control of the uNP which was rightfully ours and was hijacked by Ranil Wickremesinghe and his cohorts. After the next election, not only will the SJB win, but we will regain control of the UNP. The UNP members is what formed the SJB,” said Jayawickreme.
He further noted that under no circumstances will SJB leader Sajith Premadasa get into an agreement with President Wickremesinghe and the UNP.
“IF Mr Wickremesinghe steps down from the UNP leadership and decides to forego contesting for the presidential elections, the SJB might consider discussions, but not with the current UNP leadership or his office bearers he has appointed now,” concluded Jayawickreme.
