Sri Lanka will be casting their votes today (21) for the 9th Executive President of Sri Lanka.
Over 70 million citizens are due to cast their votes today, and polling stations are open until 4 pm today.
The Executive Presidency began with JR Jayawardena, over 48 years ago and despite promises by many presidents of the past, it had never been abolished in Sri Lanka.
