Sri Lanka Successfully Evacuates 55 Vulnerable Workers from Lebanon

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Lebanon, in collaboration with the International Organization of Migration (IOM), has successfully arranged the evacuation of 55 vulnerable Sri Lankan workers from Lebanon. The latest group, comprising 26 individuals, arrived in Colombo on the evening of December 4, as reported by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beirut.

The Embassy expressed its gratitude towards the IOM in Lebanon for their crucial support in facilitating the evacuation of these vulnerable workers. Despite the challenging and tense circumstances in Lebanon, the Embassy remains committed to continuing its efforts to assist those in need among the Sri Lankan community.

This collaborative initiative aims to provide relief and safety to Sri Lankans facing difficult situations abroad. The Embassy is hopeful for ongoing cooperation with the IOM to ensure the well-being and protection of Sri Lankan citizens in Lebanon and beyond. The successful return of these workers marks a significant step in addressing the welfare of expatriates in precarious situations, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in humanitarian efforts.
