The Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) has reached a significant milestone with a throughput of 2.41 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs), marking its best performance to date. The Port of Colombo, which includes major terminals such as South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT) and Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT), recorded a total of 7.78 million TEUs. Ongoing infrastructure enhancements, including the partial operation of the Colombo East Container Terminal and the forthcoming Colombo West International Terminal, are expected to further boost the port’s capacity and operational efficiency.
