Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police (SDIG) in charge of the Western Province, Deshabandu Tennakoon has been appointed as the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Sri Lanka.
The current position of IGP awarded to Deshanbandu will be reviewed once again in three months.
Former IGP C D Wickramaratne retired from his position after several extensions to his tenure made by President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
