Speaking at a media briefing a short while ago, Tamil Progressive Alliance leader and former MP, Mano Ganesan said that Ranil Wickremesinghe’s arrest was clearly a joke as clearly far greater allegations are posed against Wickremesinghe, yet an arrest was made based on something which was part of a sitting President’s entitlement.
“So basically a president can’t have a personal life? He can’t visit his family? Can’t visit his mother and father? A president needs to work 24/7 for state affairs only?,” questioned Ganesan.
He further noted that far greater allegations have been posed against Wickremesinghe, yet those remain untouched and an arrest was made based on a menial allegation.
