Two siblings were found dead in the Hali Ela, Bogoda area yesterday (23).
The deceased brother-sister duo were 10 and 7 years old respectively.
The two children had gone to search for their mother who had not yet returned from work due to heavy rain, and had drowned in a ditch at a paddy field nearby.
The police, along with the villagers, launched a search operation for the missing children and had found the two bodies in the Bogoda Oya.
The bodies were sent to the Badulla Hospital, and a postmortem will be conducted.
