Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe is in need of urgent heart surgery as his blockages has caused his health to detoriated considerably, says Deputy Director of the Colombo National Hospital, Dr Rukshan Bellana.
Urging for immediate action to be taken, Dr Bellana confirmed that Wickremesinghe is still under close medical watch at the NHSL, and is in need of surgery either at the NHSL, which would take some time due to the waiting list, or must be transferred to a private hospital for surgery.
“Either way, private hospital or NHSL, Wickremesinghe needs urgent heart surgery,” he said.
