The unanticipated strike by railway under-guards have caused the delay and cancellation of several office trains this morning (05).
Railway under-guards had reportedly undertaken a strike yesterday by reporting sick leave.
The sudden train union action was driven by an assault of an under-guard by a security
guard at the Maligawatta railway yard.
Commuters were left stranded at railway stations due to transport delays and cancellations.
