Raising a point of order at the Parliament, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, a short while ago today (18), proposed that the appointment of a Select Committee to study the Supreme Court determination on the Gender Equality Bill was necessary.
This was made known by the President’s Media Division (PMD) today.
He further mentioned that the Supreme Court determination is a perverse determination that challenges the rights of women, and, the safeguarding of Buddhism.
