The online passport appointment system is now accessible to the public through the following link: https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/MakeAppointments/. A new procedure is set to take effect on November 6, 2024, aimed at simplifying the passport application process for applicants.
Starting from November 6, 2024, individuals must register via the link http://www.immigration.gov.lk to apply for Sri Lankan passports. Applications from registered individuals will be accepted beginning Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Until Tuesday, December 3, 2024, applicants can still submit their applications based on the previous system.
This new registration process applies to all applicants, including new applicants, those with existing passports, and individuals who have lost their passports. Both One Day Service and Normal Service will require prior registration.
To register, applicants must provide a valid National Identity Card number and mobile phone number. For children under 16, the National Identity Card number of a parent must be entered during registration.
Once registered, applicants will receive an SMS with their appointment date. It is essential to attend the designated office location (Head office or regional offices) before noon on the reserved date with all necessary documents. Failure to attend will necessitate re-registration. Please note that passports cannot be obtained without a scheduled appointment.
