Mic pulled from Greta Thunberg after inviting Palestinian on stage

Accused of delivering a pro-Palestinian message at a climate rally in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam, a man grabbed the microphone from Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg as she was speaking at the event.

After inviting a Palestinian and an Afghan woman to speak, the activist was interrupted after a man jumped onto the stage.

He alleged that Thunberg had turned the march into a political event, stating that he “came here for a climate demonstration, not a political view” as he approached the 20-year-old activist. He walked off the stage after pulling the microphone from Thunberg and throwing it to the ground.

At the event, Thunberg said that “as a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity”.

The activist was wearing a Keffiyeh, a traditional Palestinian scarf.
