The prevailing dry weather condition in Eastern and Uva provinces is expected to temporarily change from today (26), according to the Meteorology Department.
Accordingly, Showers will occur at times in Nuwara-Eliya, Matale and Polonnaruwa districts while several spells of showers will occur in Eastern and Uva provinces, the department announced.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Galle and Matara districts in the evening or night.
Fairly strong winds about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times in eastern slopes of the central hills and in Northern, North-central, Southern, North-western, Uva and Eastern provinces.
The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
