Meteorology Department predicts heavy showers in several Provinces.
According to the Meteorology Department, showers and showers thunderstorms will occur in most provinces of the island after 1.00 PM.
Fairly heavy showers of about 75mm are likely in areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Southern and Western provinces.
The Met. Department states that showers may occur at some areas of the Western province, as well as Puttalam in the morning hours as well.
It is advised that the general public take adequate measures to minimise damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
