The country has recently seen the unveiling of its first centrally-monitored, fully automated, female-operated Lanka IOC (LIOC) filling station.
The filling station is situated at Columbo’s Hospital Square and is the first new filling station to be inaugurated within the city limits in the past two decades. Offering 24/7 services, its close proximity to the hospital ensures that doctors and patients receive access to essential services. Furthermore, the establishment acts as a step forward towards the diversification of professional roles, as well as female empowerment.
This project was envisioned by Ninewells Hospital, the largest specialised hospital in Sri Lanka, also leading in women and children’s healthcare.
The station is set to provide a variety of services beyond fuel, including detailing and tyre alignment.
