Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Keheliya Rambukwella, who is currently in remand custody, has tendered his resignation as the Minister of Environment.
Accordingly, he had submitted his letter of resignation as the Minister of Environment to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who has accepted the resignation.
Rambukwella served as the Health Minister prior, and was remanded on 03 February.
Following his arrest by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on 02 February, in connection with the procurement of substandard human intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), he was admitted to the Prison Hospital upon medical advice.
