Indictments filed against ex-Central Bank Governor Cabraal over Rs. 1.8 billion loss

Indictments have been filed against former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal and three others, accused of causing over Rs. 1.8 billion in losses to the Sri Lankan government through Greek T-bond investments in 2012.

Following the indictments from the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), the Colombo High Court granted the defendants release on surety bail of Rs. 10 million each.

The court also imposed an overseas travel ban, requiring the defendants to surrender their passports and seek permission for any international travel.
