Members of the public who have fallen victim to online financial scams through social media, such as WhatsApp, has been requested to inform the Police Computer Crime Investigation Division.
Scams can be reported by sending emails to the Police Computer Crime Investigation Division via [email protected].
The measures have been put in place after several reports of the public being financially defrauded through the hacking of social media accounts, such as Facebook and WhatsApp.
People have been advised not to open links, or respond to requests for one-time passwords (OTP/ PIN), codes, or financial aid sent via SMS or WhatsApp messages.
