The Court of Appeal today refused to issue an interim order preventing Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon from being arrested in connection with the Weligama hotel shooting incident.
Furthermore, the court gave directives to the police to go ahead and arrest the former IGP by executing the arrest warrant that was issued by the Matara Magistrates Court.
The Court of Appeal’s two-judge bench, headed by Justice (Acting President) Mohamed Laffar, additionally dismissed Deshabandu’s petition with costs.
