Four Women Appointed to Key Leadership Roles in Sri Lanka Police

In a groundbreaking moment for the Sri Lanka Police, history was made as four women were appointed to pivotal leadership roles, marking a significant step towards gender equality in law enforcement.

SSP H.W.I.S. Muthumala, who had previously served as the Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), was now entrusted with the esteemed position of Director of the CID. Her dedication and expertise promised to steer the department toward new heights in criminal investigations.

In another remarkable appointment, SSP Darshika Kumari transitioned from her role as the Deputy Director of the Computer Crime Investigation Division of the CID to lead the Police Field Force Headquarters (FFHQ). Her background in tackling cybercrime positioned her uniquely to innovate and enhance the operational strategies of the field force.

Meanwhile, SSP Lanka Rajini Amarasena, who had been stationed at Police Headquarters, took on the critical role of Director of the Police Special Investigation Unit (SIU). In this position, she would oversee internal investigations of police personnel, a task requiring integrity and courage, both of which she embodied.

Lastly, SSP Madara Ariyasena was appointed as the Director of the Police Hospital, a role that underscored the importance of health and wellness within the police force.
