Former ministers and officials return dozens of state vehicles

Several state vehicles have been returned to the new administration following the election of Anura Kumara Dissanayake as the President of Sri Lanka.

Former ministers and government ministry officials have returned the vehicles after the regime change, under instruction from Anura Kumara Dissanayake who has vowed to reduce the number of vehicles allocated to them.

Many have been parked at the relevant ministry premises and the Presidential Secretariat premises in Colombo.

Some of the vehicles have been abandoned on the road. It has also been reported that some of them have been in accidents, and are missing parts and keys.

It remains unclear what the President will do with the vehicles and how they will be allocated in the future.
