A significant reshuffle within the police force has resulted in the transfer of several senior officers, including Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG). Notably, SSP H.W.I.S. Muthumala has been appointed as the new Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), having previously held the position of Deputy Director in the same department.
Meanwhile, SSP E.M.M.S. Dehideniya, who was serving as the Director of the CID, has been reassigned to the Nugegoda Division. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force.
The National Police Commission has officially approved the transfers of a total of 54 police officers, signaling a commitment to reorganizing the department for improved performance. These changes aim to provide fresh leadership and perspectives within key divisions, ultimately enhancing the overall functioning of the police service.
